The EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Full Body Vacuum Mattress is a lightweight, durable immobilization system designed to fill the voids that are left with a back board. No additional padding is required. The mattress automatically contours to the patient's body shape providing comfort and reduces the pain common with back boards. This makes the mattress ideal for situations dealing with geriatric patients and long transports. The unique handle and strapping system allows for quick application and easy clean up. Side squeeze adjustable buckles provide the rescuer with fast application and easy adjustment. When vacuum is applied, the mattress compresses and becomes rigid. Straps are readjusted to secure the patient to the mattress simply by pulling on the loose end of the straps. The heavy duty mattress handles come with comfortable grips that are designed to transfer the weight of the patient to the straps. Since the handles are not permanently attached, there is no need to worry about them tearing away from the unit. All components of the EMS IMMOBILE-VAC SYSTEM are removable for easy cleaning.

The EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Full Body Vacuum Mattress may be formed around the patient’s head to reduce movement. The mattress and the straps encompass the patient to allow for vertical transport, eliminating the need for complex strapping techniques. This makes it ideal for water, ski, cave, cliff, and most extreme rescue situations requiring immobilization. In addition, The Full Body Mattress may be used in conjunction with the most popular stretchers and cervical collars.

The EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Full Body Mattress is a superior product for geriatric care. The inner beads add comfort to a patient who has little muscle mass. The flexibility of the mattress allows rescuers to mold and add support around the neck and head area to accommodate patients with severe curvature of the spine. The mattress may also be used for many practical positions, including bent knees and the sitting position.

The EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Arm Splint offers speed and reliability in caring for arm injuries. The chambered inner liner allows for even distribution of the beads, thus eliminating the need to spread the beads out manually. The adjustable, removable and quick buckle straps reduce splinting time while offering the immobilization required for most injuries. This technology eliminates the need for tape, boards or gauze and offers the accessibility for patient and injury site monitoring.

EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Leg Splint

Unlike the familiar air splints, the EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Leg Splint forms around the extremity without exerting external pressure on the injury site. In many cases, the Leg Splint may be used to immobilize the knee along with the ankle. Since there are no hook and loop straps used, minor adjustments after drawing a vacuum may be easily accomplished without removing the straps.

The EMS IMMOBILE-VAC Pediatric/Universal Vacuum Mattress is the single most versatile of the EMS IMMOBILE-VAC family of products. It has the same durable and easy to use features as the Full Body Mattress but is designed to adapt to a wider variety of injuries. Similar to wrapping a child in a blanket, the Pediatric/Universal Mattress uses the mattress as the restraints, not thin hook and loop straps. The pliability of the mattress enables the rescuer to maintain an open airway, unlike hard pediatric immobilizers. The styrofoam inner beads act as an insulator to help keep the patient warm. The Pediatric/ Universal Mattress is so cost effective as to make all other pediatric immobilizers obsolete.
